Pinwheels are traditionally used at Lunar New Year to ward off ill fortune and invite good luck. Making offerings and uttering prayers for the year ahead also play a central role in the festivities. During the holiday period, Barra Square hosts a cluster of stalls selling incense joss sticks and brightly-coloured pinwheels, providing worshippers with convenient access to essential ritual items while adding to the area’s seasonal atmosphere.
