Ukiyo-e is a genre of Japanese art based on colourful woodblock prints that flourished during the Edo period (1603–1868). This exhibition presents over 90 works by four renowned Ukiyo-e masters: Katsushika Hokusai, known for his depictions of great waves; Utagawa Hiroshige, celebrated for his landscape series; Kitagawa Utamaro, famed for his portrayals of female beauty; and Suzuki Harunobu, who popularised multicolour woodblock prints known as “Nishiki-e”.
