This exhibition is inspired by the dragon, this year’s zodiac creature, to present a blend of tradition and creativity. The display features four monumental lanterns, crafted by a trio of artists drawn from within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, alongside a Mainland China “light-drawing” artist. Collectively their output combines traditional lantern artistry, Chinese fine brush painting, and contemporary graffiti styles, as well as “light-drawing” techniques. Visitors can see live demonstrations of traditional lantern making, and even join in workshops to try creating their own.
