This virtual visit to the Mater Dei Church (Church of the Mother of God) offers the general public a glimpse of how the historical structure might have looked in its heyday, before its destruction by fire. What is left in real life is the Ruins of St. Paul’s, one of Macao’s most iconic heritage sites. Virtual reality technology offers a recreation of the original building, enabling visitors to immerse themselves in the magnificent architecture of 400 years ago. They can also learn about Macao’s centuries-old history and its culture of East-West links.
