MGM joins hands with One Central Macau to present the 6th Macau Lantern Festival, featuring a large-scale lantern installation “Jade Rabbit in a Lotus Garden” curated by internationally renowned designer Alan Chan. Taking inspiration from the Chinese legendary tale of Jade Rabbit and Macau’s regional flower, the lotus flower, we extend the showcase of art from the property to the waterfront promenade and create an expansive public art space, enhancing the cultural atmosphere of the city by integrating art into the lives of locals and tourists, and brining joy and vitality to everyone during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Throughout the ages, the luminous full moon in the velvety night sky has sparked a wellspring of enchantment and wonder. Ancient China weaves captivating tales of Chang'e, the celestial moon goddess, and her devoted companion, the Jade Rabbit. As echoes of tradition, these cherished images continue to inspire the resplendent allure of traditional Chinese lanterns during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The jumping Jade Rabbit represents the legendary tale of "Jade Rabbit Flying to the Moon (嫦娥奔月)", the playful depiction adding youthful vitality. Meanwhile, the lotus flower represents hope and expectations for the future.
