The Handover Gifts Museum of Macao is located at the area where the handover ceremony was held on December 20th, 1999. It was officially opened in December 2004, which was the 5th anniversary of the handover. The Handover Gifts Museum of Macao is a three-storey building where the entrance, the lobby and the Museum’s administrative offices are located on the first floor, the handover gifts exhibition gallery and a topical exhibition hall on the second floor and the auditorium on the third floor. The handover gifts exhibition hall mainly exhibits the handover gifts presented by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, its country-wide provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The designated topical exhibition hall is usually used to hold different exhibits with the local culture and history of Macao as the major thematic subject.
